Acupuncturists Without Borders is offering a comprehensive weekend training in disaster and trauma relief work with 15 CEUs accepted by the NCCAOM, FL, TX, and CA, including 4.5 CEUs in Ethics and Safety.

In this training:
  • Set up a mobile acupuncture field clinic for trauma recovery in your community
  • Use the NADA protocol to help relieve stress and heal trauma after natural and human-made disasters
  • Create effective teams for trauma relief work in the field
  • Work with communities & individuals after severe trauma
  • Recognize and manage acute and secondary traumatic stress
  • Understand the neurobiology of trauma and how acupuncture works to reduce post-traumatic stress
  • Use the HeartMath system for trauma reduction in the field or in a clinic setting
  • Set up a local Community Service Clinic to treat veterans, military personnel, refugees, survivors of domestic and sexual violence, and other groups affected by trauma
   Training also includes:
  • Community-style acupuncture session to give trainees the experience of a mobile group clinic - as a recipient and as a practitioner
  • Information on progress in adopting acupuncture in the VA, updates on Battlefield Acupuncture use in the military, and recent case studies about acupuncturists working with the Medical Reserve Corps to gain access during relief efforts
  • List of the most recent research studies concerning the efficacy of acupuncture for trauma recovery and discussion of other acupuncture protocols effective for trauma

PDA/CEUs:
Completion of the training will provide 15 CEUs accepted by the NCCAOM, the California Acupuncture Board, the Florida Board of Acupuncture, and the Texas Board of Acupuncture Examiners, including 4.5 CEUs in Ethics and Safety.

These documents together make up 150 pages of essential reference information that are unique and invaluable for implementing mobile field clinics. Current training prices reflect the inclusion of the printed materials as a courtesy to training participants.
